With Johnny Depp's pale, scarred exterior and scissor-hands, Edward ostentatiously stands out admist the idyllic surburban Christmastime landscape of Tim Burton's 1990's fantasy. Neverthless, his sweet nature and back story proves perfectly in tune with the festive spirit. Moral lessons of kindness, pure love between two individuals and to never judge a book by its cover!

The early 2000 cult classic is a must for a Christmas movie binge session. The star-studded romantic comedy is filled with unique characters with their own detailed stories. Is it a Halloween movie or a Christmas flick? Whatever it is, it's our fave feel-good and child-hood memory evoking movie of all time! Tim Burton's animated fantasy is an absolute masterpiece. It's a sumptious visual wonder of tricks, treats and magic that only he can accomplish. If Jack Skeleton is as charming as he is as the Pumpkin King, we're okay with him showing up at a Xmas party dressed as Santa Claus!

How The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

You either love it or hate it! You have to admit that Jim Carrey's rendition as the Grinch is positively stellar, and one of his best works! Since it's Jim Carrey, there's much improvised humour twinkled in with festive spirit, giving a whole new dimension of the Grinch's character. We also get a gross banana peel eating scene that passes because only Carrey can pull it off!

Another 1994 cult-classic that put smiles and fear in the hearts of children- the fear that Santa would fall of their roof and to his death at Christmas time? This Netflix distributed movie is steadily earning its reputation as the Christmas Movie of all time! Let's just say it has a different take on the holiday season and it's a must-see! Experiencing Kurt Russell as a suave and not so jolly Santa Clause is an absolute treat. Seeing the cameo roles of his long time partner Goldie Hawn as Mrs Clause is also a lovely touch! If that doesn't sway you, Russell belts out an incredible jazz rendition of "Santa Claus Is Back In Town"!

This feel-good 1944 musical from Vincete Minnelli is a Christmas classic comprised of magical vignettes you can only expect from a Metro Goldwyn Mayer movie. Despite the variety of scenes, none are so famous as the one featuring star Judy Garland singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".

Elf

Another feel-good cult classic that we all grew up watching. Will Ferrell as the clownish orphan raised by Santa Clause and his elves is a memorable performance. A Muppet Christmas Carol

If you're unfamiliar with the work of author Charles Dickens, his tale A Christmas Carol is ... unusually dark, with ghosts and the desire for redemption. Luckily, Buena Vista ups the jolly factor. They up the ante by stocking the morbid tale with singing, and showcasing some of the Muppet's most beloved characters. A much more kid friendly version to spread the meaning of Christmas joy!

The Holiday

As cheesy as this movie was, it's still a top contender on our Christmas movie list! Nancy Meyers is the queen of cosy, and this romantic Christmas-set comedy is as warm and snuggly as it gets. Two very different women face simultaneous failed romantic ventures. What do they do to get away from it all? They swap houses over the holidays and in turn, find new good guys to swoon over!

Another stellar performance by actor Tim Allen and co-star Jamie Lee Curtis. With their daughter away, the Kranks decide to spontaneously skip Christmas altogether much to the horror of their suburb. When their daughter decides to visit home, it's a mad rush to get everything decorated in time! The trope might be a little overdone, but it's worth it if you want a few good laughs and for Christmas cheer! Expect some zaniness and mania thrown it!!
